Crack in the System is the fourteenth episode of the second season of Avengers Assemble.

Synopsis[]

Iron Man works to find Ultron as he controls technology from Hammer Industries and A.I.M. to attack the Avengers. In order to free Arsenal from Ultron's control, Iron Man works on a destroyer malware in order to deactivate Ultron. Iron Man finds out Ultron is at A.I.M base using his Ultron detector, which he does not share with his team. Later he claims he was suspicious and hence he did not share the details. During fight with Ultron, Tony is able to inject Ultron with Destroyer Malware with help of his team mates. Anyhow, he destroys only 95% of Ultron being emotional about Arsenal and Ultron is able to reboot and defeat Tony. This angers Captain America, as Tony did not destroy Ultron as discussed earlier by the team and risked many lives on Earth for his personal emotions on Arsenal. At the end, Captain America leave the Avengers after an argument with Tony.

Quotes[]

  • Thor: (Thunder Rumbles) By the power of Asgard, bring fire to these dogs!
  • Hawkeye: The technique's a little dangerous, Thor. Can't argue with these results.
  • Thor: Ah, an award.
  • Hulk: Out of my way, Thor.) I've been dying for a little snack. (Burps
  • Hawkeye: Aw, come on!
  • Tony Stark: There's nothing sadder than a hungry man whose hotdog just got hulked. (Snaps) Luckily, I'm a visionary. Saving the world from imminent cosmic destruction deserves a little R&R. Think of this as a Thanos retirement party. Falcon, you up for some target practice?
  • Falcon: Of course. Prepare to be amazed.
  • Tony Stark: T.A.R.B.I.E., se 'em up.
  • Falcon: (Grunting) I used to target shoot at Coney Island all the time. Still have the high score.
  • Black Widow: Is that so? Let me guess, you had to look where you were aiming.
  • Falcon: Remind me not to take you to Coney Island. Cap? What's wrong with him?
  • Tony Stark: Now that looks like a hungry super-soldier to me. Double cheeseburger?
  • Captain America: No time for that.
  • Tony Stark: Single then?
  • Captain America: I need to see you in the data crux, now.
  • Tony Stark: You know all work and no play makes Cap a dull play.
  • Captain America I've been monitoring for Ultron infiltrations and I have three possibles.
  • Tony Stark: Trust me, those "possibles" aren't possible.
  • Captain America: You barely looked at them. Ultron's back because of one reason. You rebuilt Arsenal to defeat Thanos.
  • Tony Stark: I think "defeat Thanos" is the operative phrase in that sentence. You're welcome.
  • Captain America: You didn't tell us Arsenal was so vulnerable to Ultron's artificial intelligence.
  • Tony Stark: I didn't have time to beta-test. Sometimes saving the world from obliteration requires a little risk.
  • Captain America: Ultron is no ordinary threat. You can;t be so cavalier with this.
  • Tony Stark: Cavalier? Please. Jarvis, bring out my latest toy.
  • JARVIS: Right away, sir.
  • Tony Stark: Of course I'm concerned about Ultron. That's why I developed this Ultron detector app right before lunch.
  • Captain America: You can track him?
  • Iron Man: I can track Arsenal. The fact that Ultron's using Arsenal's body means I have a back door into his operating system. This app alerts me as soon as any Ultron signature is detected. Jarvis, run Cap's possibles again.
  • JARVIS: Yes, sir.
  • Tony Stark: Survey says? No Ultronm no Ultron, and no Ultron. I got this. Remember, Ultron took over my dad's greatest creation, and I'm taking that personally. But some R&R keeps the team's morale up.
  • Captain America: So, did I smell hot dogs up there?
  • Tony Stark: Finally, Cap joins the party. I told you I had all this covered.

  • Hawkeye: Oh, come on! I was eating those!

  • Iron Man: It's over, Hammer.
  • Justin Hammer: Stark, help! Get me out of this thing!
  • Iron Man: What? I can't believe I fell for that.
  • Justin Hammer: It's not me, believe me! My robots just started acting on their own.

  • Justin Hammer: That's where it went?
  • Captain America: Why should we trust you?
  • Black Widow: Uh, guys. He might be telling the truth.
  • Iron Man: Imagine that. Hammer not lying.

  • Hulk: Never start a fight without us!

  • Captain America: You fight one of us. You fight as one.

  • Captain America: Friends, they always have your back...

  • Arsenal: Hello, Tony.
  • Iron Man: Arsenal?

  • Captain America: I can't be on the team while I don't trust the leadership.
  • Tony Stark: What are you saying?
  • Captain America: I quit, the Avengers.
