The New Avengers are a team of superheroes led by Black Panther. The group was formed after the Avengers mysteriously disappeared, like the original Avengers, they serve as the Earth's defense against superpowered threats; however, there main goal is to discover what happened to the Avengers.
History
Formation
- The group is led by Black Panther and consisting of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Vision, Ant-Man and the Hope Van Dyne version of Wasp where the group is described to be the All-New, All-Different Avengers. They came together after the Avengers were trapped by the Cabal (consisting of Leader, Enchantress, Executioner, Arnim Zola, and Kang the Conqueror). Even though Leader is defeated by the New Avengers, Enchantress and Arnim Zola reveal to even the New Avengers that Leader is not the true leader of the Cabal as they activate the fail-safe that causes the Static Expander to send the captive Avengers across time and space. Before disappearing, Captain America instructs the New Avengers to continue in their place until they can be found and brought home.
